Our August Wednesday KAL is one of the many wonderful patterns by Cocoknits - Veronika. This popover is somewhere between a poncho and a sweater. It's swingy and light, not at all fitted but with snug cuffs that make it easy to wear. The front and back curves are knit using short rows. After the curves are created, everything is joined and the pattern is knit seamlessly all the way up. Veronika can be knit as a warm or cool weather garment. A variety of yarns work well for this pattern - ranging from fingering to DK weight, warm and fuzzy to light and summery. We love Shibui yarns for projects like this! Check out our samples shown in: 1. Vine and 2. Pebble + Silk Cloud held together. Cocoknits creator Julie Weisenberger will be joining us for the kick off gathering on Zoom! She'll be there to answer any pattern questions, say hello, and share in the enthusiasm of starting this project. Our resident knit pro Jody James will be available each week to help you out with tips and tricks throughout the month too. At the end of the month, we will raffle off Shibui knit kit to a lucky winner! Sign up for the knit-along and get your Veronika yarn from us to enter.

** If we don't have enough stock of the yarn you want, please contact us to order more. We are happy to get you the yarn you need!

Every month we like to start a new knit-a-long project at Cattywampus. These are fun, casual gatherings with the support of our resident knit pro and a gaggle of fellow knitters. It's a chance to enjoy knitting a common project along with others. Our official KAL meetups are on Wednesday afternoons 4-6 pm, but you are welcome to knit anytime and at your own pace. Our gatherings are virtual these days. Join us on Zoom meeting ID 285 808 696.
