For our September Wednesdays knit-along we are doing the Ren by Woolfolk. We love this "boring" sweater pattern (said with sarcastic affection) for a lot of reasons: 1. it's an easy knit project, 2. you can make it with 3 different weights of yarn, 3. it's a totally classic style that you'll want to wear a lot, 4. it's unisex. So choose the weight and feel that appeals to you and have at it! Woolfolk makes the most glorious yarns - each quite distinct, all very soft and in gorgeous colors. Sno is a beautiful marled fingering weight ultra merino yarn created by plying two colors together. Tov is a densely twisted, smooth and soft merino yarn that has the most pristine stitch definition. Hygge is a fluffy super bulky yarn consisting of mulberry silk, alpaca, and ultra merino. Each version of this pattern knit in the different yarns produces distinct sweaters. It's hard to pick a favorite, but there's no need for that since all 3 variations come together in the pattern! The Ren pullover is worked flat in pieces in stockinette stitch from the bottom up. Front and back have ribbed hems, and sleeves have hemmed stockinette stitch cuffs. Sno and Tov versions have hemmed mock necks, and the Hygge version has single layer mock neck.

Get this pattern for free when you sign up for the knit-along and buy your yarn from us!
** If we don't have enough stock of the yarn you want, please contact us to order more. We are happy to get you the yarn you need!

Every month we like to start a new knit-a-long project at Cattywampus. These are fun, casual gatherings with the support of our resident knit pro Jody James and a gaggle of fellow knitters. It's a chance to enjoy knitting a common project along with others. It's not really a class, so you should have some knit skills already. If you want to knit along with us, but need more help, then please contact us to schedule a private lesson or come to our Sunday Stitch Assist 2-3 pm. Our official KAL meetups are on Wednesday afternoons 4-6 pm, but you are welcome to knit anytime and at your own pace. Our gatherings are virtual so that we can be together wherever we are! Join us on Zoom meeting ID 285 808 696.
